The powerful Rastafarian Deejay, with a style comparable to Buju Banton, Al Pancho was born Owen Ricardo Brown in St. Mary, Jamaica. He moved to Kingston in 1988 where he met Bunny Stricker Lee whom he recorded his first songs in the early 90’s. The young Owen Brown started singing when he was 12 years old just for fun with his friends in the back of their houses. He became influenced by deejays such as Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks and began his career by performing alongside some of regga music’s biggest artists. He has since released his own albums featuring appearances from Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Bounty Killer, and Junior Kelly. This talented veteran of the reggae scene recorded some of his first singles when he was only 17. He also released several singles for various producers such as Don Mais, Junior Dodd, Lustre Kings, and Clive Hunt. Since then, Al Pancho has cut tunes with many of today’s major reggae record labels including Das Vibes and Minor 7 Flat 5. He released his debut album, “Righteous Men” including many duets in 2004, followed by “My Story” released in 2007 and a year later in 2008 he released “Joy Bells Ringing”. Al Pancho continues to tour the world spreading the One Love message through his music, captivating audiences near and far.
