Lucas Hahn is one of the most inspiring and compelling young pianists I’ve ever encountered. He has a natural ability and musicality that is extremely rare. He’s not just talented – he’s headed towards a prolific career.” – Taylor Eigsti
Raised in Santa Cruz, California, 19-year old pianist and composer Lucas Hahn has been performing jazz and classical piano for the past eleven years. Frequently exposed to live world class jazz from an early age, Hahn quickly developed both a deep appreciation for the music and a passion for honing his craft. Throughout his young career, Hahn has had the privilege to perform with such luminaries as Julian Lage, Jamie Cullum, Obed Calvaire, Luques Curtis, Remy Le Boeuf, Colin Stranahan, Matt Clohesy, and Mads Tolling. He’s been fortunate enough to perform at many premier music venues in the United States, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, SFJAZZ Center, Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Vail Jazz Festival, and PDX Jazz Festival.
Keshav Batish is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Santa Cruz, California. His instruments of concentration are tabla, sitar, and drumset. He is a khandani musician and studies Hindustani classical music with his father Pt. Ashwin Batish. American music-wise, he studies drum set with George Marsh and composition with Larry Polansky. He performs extensively in the Bay Area as well as internationally, notably with his father’s band Sitar Power.
